We are counting down the days until our exciting Wine Tasting Event.

Tickets and flyers will be available this week from Rachel Muschow. As always we count on you to help us get the word out, as this is a major fundraiser for our education fund.

The ticket price will include an opportunity to win prizes. The main prize we hope to make $1,000 in gift cards. Here are some ideas for contributing to the prize:

$10 or $15 gift card to a restaurant, grocery store, or department store.
Pick up a gift card at the checkout next time you go grocery shopping.
Order a gift card online. Some of the online sites actually let you print the gift certificate as you make the purchase. What could be easier? Maybe you even have one you can re-gift.

Diamonds Are A Girl’s Best Friend!

The SouthShore Charter Chapter of the American Business Women’s Association will hold its Annual Banquet on Monday, July 20th at 6:30pm, at Apollo’s Bistro in Apollo Beach, sponsored by Wilhelm Heating and Air and The Women’s Newspapers. This year is the 60th anniversary of the national organization and so the theme will be “Diamonds are a Girl’s Best Friend.”

The highlight of this year’s event is the guest speaker, J. Lenora Bresler. The chapter is honored to have such a successful professional woman address the audience.

J. Lenora Bresler is a powerhouse of enthusiasm and insight. In her presentations, you get plenty of substance along with a good helping of “fun.” Graduating from law school at age 20, she is an attorney, a certified senior human resource professional, and a professional public speaker in the National Speakers Association. She operates Bresler Training, a corporate training and keynoting business. Her specialties are leadership, motivation, change, and conflict resolution.

National Business Women's Day

The South Shore Chapter of the American Business Women's Association would like to invite professional women of Riverview, Ruskin, Apollo Beach and Sun City to celebrate National Business Women's Day.

The Mission of the A.B.W.A. is to bring together businesswomen of diverse occupations and to provide opportunities for them to help themselves and others grow personally and professionally through leadership, education, networking support and national recognition.

We will be accepting applications for new members and several members will be present to answer any questions you might have about our organization. The South Shore Chapter meets every third Monday of the month in Freedom Plaza, Sun City at 5:30. The South Shore Chapter of The American Business Women's Association is the fastest growing women's organization in the area. Penny Smith, President and owner of the Apollo Beach and Ruskin H&R Block will be present to greet you and extend this invitation.

Honorary Mayor Campaign Update

The Ruskin Honorary Mayor's Race is underway. Our next event will be a silent Auction. Our tentative date is 25 September. We are looking for gift packs, baskets, gift certificates, just about anything that could promote your business and help us to raise funds. We are also planning a breakfast event for 23 October. We will be holding a drawing on that day with the grand prize being a brand new Carrier Infinity residential AC system. If you can help us with either event please contact me directly.
